Thrift Store Offers Great Deals!Bargains, bargains, bargains galore! The Edna Howell Thrift Store at the West End Community Center is chock-full of clothes, housewares, gifts, appliances and furniture at rock-bottom prices. Patrons can fill a bag full of clothes for $5. For upscale clothes, still very inexpensive, try our Boutique. Pick from the huge selection we have on two floors of the community building. ![]() The store began as part of First Reformed United Church of Christ's (now Christ's Community Church) outreach to the West End Community. Its founders wanted our neighbors to have "really nice things they can afford." Offering the dignity of paying for what they want along with the satisfaction of being able to afford what they want, the Thrift Store has been steadily growing over the past ten years. We also provide beds, housewares and clothing free of charge to those who can't afford our low prices (referrals required.) In this way, the thrift store remains a ministry to those in need, as well as a great place to bargain hunt for everyone. Volunteers are wanted. Sorting, hanging up clothes and carrying boxes of merchandise as well as business skills are always in demand. Call Mary Lane at 336-884-1090. Thrift Store: Donations accepted. |
