Leslie's House               

Leslie’s House is a homeless shelter for single women located at 845 English Road in the West End neighborhood.

West End Ministries began serving homeless women in January, 2007 in the basement of the Community Center.  It quickly became apparent that a more permanent arrangement was needed. 

The Shelter served 146 different women in 2007.  After a brief fundraising campaign and an outpouring of love and support, the finances were raised for a brand new shelter.  In December, 2007 Leslie’s House opened with 21 beds for women in need.

The guests at Leslie’s House are given more than a hot meal and a warm bed; they are given hope.  The Shelter’s director Sara Holland meets with each woman individually. Together they set goals and develop a plan to move from the shelter into permanent housing.  Sara helps the women connect with resources in the community including health care, education, employment and housing.

Leslie’s House is a “dream come true” for many in the West End neighborhood.
