WEM Hosts One-Day Seminar: "Reaching Out To and Serving Latinos" January 13, 2009 - Tuesday - 9:00 - 4:00 West End Ministries is thrilled to host a one-day seminar on reaching out to and serving the Latino community in and around High Point. Covering a variety of cross-cultural issues, the seminar will be particularly valuable to social workers, health care providers,law enforcement personnel, and others in the helping professions.
The presenter for this highly informative program will be the Rev. Mark Sills, founder and executive director of FaithAction International House in Greensboro, and a certified consultant with the National Center for Cultural Competence at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Rev. Sills excells in workshops aimed at healing racism and improving cross-cultural communication skills, and is the author of Hispanics in North Carolina: An Introduction to Your New Neighbors.
